First published February 2014

The first Green Communities training event for 2014 will take place on Tuesday the 25th of February, and will involve a visit to the Rosemount Biology Field Station at the UCD Campus in Belfield, Dublin 4.

This will involve a talk and tour, by Kevin Kenny, of the Lamb Clarke Historic Orchard, which is located at the Campus. Kevin will demonstrate apple tree pruning techniques within the orchard for Green Communities Group Members. Tea and coffee will then be provided inside the field station, where we shall be shown grafting techniques. This shall provide community groups with the knowledge to produce their own heritage variety apple trees for private and community gardens across Dublin and beyond.
